Nittnaus' Gritschenberg vineyard produces some seriously good wines. Limestone and slate soils are key to giving the Blaufränkisch here both structure and freshness. Restraint and low-intervention is key in Anita and Hans' approach. On the palate dark cherry and blackberry are supported by fine tannins and a gentle touch of spice. The acidity is bright but remarkably balanced and focused, and a subtle minerality carries straight to the finish. Precise, expressive and elegant.
