The Werltisch Vom Opok comes from our friends Ewald and Brigitte Tscheppe in Styria. Grown on impossibly steep slopes and chalky Opok soils, this is a mineral-driven Sauvignon Blanc that that smells a bit like the sidewalk when it rains before opening up with wonderful floral and fruitier notes. A genuinely mind-blowing bottle. 

The Wasenhaus Kalk comes from Christoph and Alex in Baden, Germany. Named for the chalk-rich soils it’s grown in, the Kalk shows Pinot Noir at its most elegant. Think lots of energy, finely textured, and powerful, with a depth that continues to build with time in the glass (or cellar!). 

Both of these wines arrive in limited quantities, are made with incredible energy and finesse and continue to get better with age. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
