On Monday 15th June, we’ll be hosting our long time friend Theo Foradori. It has been more than 10 years since his mother Elisabetta has passed on the responsibility of the winery and farm to his brother Emilio, his sister Myrtha and him.
The theme of the tasting is '10 Years After', exploring the evolution of the estate since the next generation gradually took over. Rather than looking back, the focus will be on how the new generation has built upon the foundations of one of Italy’s most influential wineries while forging its own path.
Theo will guide us through a selection of wines that showcase projects developed over the last decade, including the Cilindrica wines made from single sites 'Sgarzon' and 'Morei' and the emerging work in Brentonico on Monte Baldo.
To provide context and perspective, we will also open a number of older vintages from Elisabetta's era, allowing us to compare the continuity and changes across generations.
It seems fitting to host this with our dear friends at Tiella. Dara's father, Richard, a fellow importer (in NZ) has worked closely with these wines over many years and shares a longstanding friendship with Elisabetta and her family.
