Franz Weninger

Szürke & Fehér 2021

A pretty and playful skin contact for anyone who likes their wine with a fun backstory! When Weninger planted his Frettner vineyard back in 1999, he thought he had planted Pinot Noir for the chalky higher part of the vineyard. But three years later, he discovered that they had actually received Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris vines. In 2018, he decided to ferment the Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc together on the skins, and since 2021, it's been a Pinot party: the skins of the Blanc and the whole berries of the Gris ferment in the direct pressed juice of the Noir. A perfect ending to a happy accident!
