'Alte Reben' Blaufränkisch 2012

The grapes for the Alte Reben (old vines) come from 40-80 year old vines planted on a number of top sites around the Eisenberg, including the Saybritz, Szapary and Fasching vineyards. The old vines yield small amounts of concentrated, beautifully expressive fruit. This wine is both sumptuous and elegant, with a hint of exoticism.

The grapes are spontaneously fermented in 500 litre open top barrels, pressed after 30 days, and then aged for 21 months in 1500 litre oak barrels.
