Milan Nestarec

Atyp #2 2021

In Nestarec's own words, "Atyp is a platform for our own discovery". Somewhat akin to the 'Brutal' collective, where winemakers make more experimental cuvées with a shared ethos and philosophy under the Brutal moniker, Nestarec's Atyp bottles are a means of playing with his winemaking, whether it's working with newly acquired vines, different varieties, or experimenting with a new method.

#2 is a red and white field blend consisting of local and international varieties, coming from Nestarec's Sahary vineyard. Grapes are co-fermented in neutral vessels, before the free-run juice was bottled the following summer. Fresh and lively, with bold aromatics from the Muscat and Muller Thurgau, this wine is insanely drinkable and a great representation of the fun-first approach Milan has come to be known and loved for.

But he did show the way for many who today make Eastern Europe one of the world’s most exciting & vibrant wine regions ...
